Only giving this a 4, as I have not actually used it yet. But, out of the box, there are no blemishes, and the bearings are incredibly smooth. It will be interesting to see what happens under a little pressure and while turning.

When I ordered 3/4 IN. MT2 CROWN REVOLVING LIVE CENTER FOR WOOD LATHES I thought it looked kind of strange with the teeth on the live center. It actually works much better then the original live center I received with my wood lathe. It grips the wood strong with no slippage. I have used it on hard white oak and I tried it on some maple that was cut down just a few weeks age (very wet) and had no problems in either wood. The bearing spins freely. It will work on any wood lathe set up for an MT2 live center. I’m very happy with it.

The 3/4 inch MT2 crown revolving live center for wood lathes does a very good job for letting your wood spin and not letting it bore a hole in your wood. My son really loves it for his woodworking. I know he is going to have many hours of enjoyment out of it. Yes it meets my expectations and I have had it for a few days now. Any one that does woodworking would really enjoy getting this .

The 3/4 inch size is perfect for turning smaller objects allowing additional access to the work piece.It provides a firm, secure grip on the turning blank without leaving a significant center mark on the piece. It’s one of my new favorites for spindle turning.

This is a live center which holds the the non-motor side of a project on a lathe. My husband is using this with his Jet lathe.What is especially nice about this center, is that in addition to the point, it also has a crown which helps hold the project tighter and more securely.It is well made and works well with his lathe. It has become his go-to center primarily because of the crown.

This is a very sturdy, very smooth, well constructed, live center for the tail stock of your wood lathe. It will work best with wood stock of one inch or greater diameter because that is the diameter of the crown of this live center where it will bite into the wood you are turning. With this live center, you do not need to oil or otherwise lubricate the wood at it’s contact point with the tailstock. Even after lubricating the piece I was turning with my old (not live) center, it would sometimes get very hot, and begin to squeal loudly, especially when turning very thin long spindles. This will cure most of those issues. One note: this will not fit in my very old Craftsman lathe tail stock. Although both use a Morse taper, the old Craftsman uses a smaller diameter piece.
