Our MT2 arbor taper fits perfectly into any MT2 drill press, lathe, or mill and can be installed with the simple tap of a rubber mallet. The included key securely opens and closes the 3-jaw-chuck around drill bits and shafts up to 1/2 in. Dia. This set was designed specifically for either the headstock or tailstock of the following WEN wood lathe models: 3424, 3424T, 3427, 34018, 34027, and 34034. It is also compatible with the WEN 4214 and 4225 Drill Presses.

Good product for the price. One concern though is the ability to remove the chuck from the tail stock. The arbor for the chuck has an internal threaded hole on the end opposite the chuck.. The “knock out” rod used to remove the chuck from the tail stock goes right the threaded hole in the arbor thus not making it difficult to remove the chuck from the tail stock. To fix that issue I plan on getting a set screw and installing it into the threaded hole. Otherwise a good product.

Well made, smooth operating keyed drill chuck. Fits Morse Taper #2 MT2. Tried it out with the smallest drill I had – a 0.040″ (close to 1mm) and it held it firmly. Of course, this is the wrong chuck for tiny little drills since it is made to go up to big 16 mm (a hair bigger than 5/8 inch) drill bits. It’s solid steel, comes well oiled for protection in a plastic case that is good for storage. Great replacement for a broken or worn out drill chuck.Includes the matching chuck key.

The WEN 5/8 in. Keyed Drill Chuck is a very high quality tool. The MT2 arbor taper fits perfectly into any MT2 drill press, lathe, or mill and can be installed with the simple tap of a rubber mallet or by hand with a slight twist. It also accommodates a 3/8 x 20 drawbar. Be advised that if your tail stock or other machine has a “blind” taper hole, you will have to thread a 3/8 course bolt into the taper so that the MT2 taper can be ejected when the tailstock is fully retracted. The included key securely opens and closes the 3-jaw-chuck around drill bits and shafts up to 1/2 in. Diameter. I am using this on my Emco precision 11 and 10 inch lathes and with my floor drill press. I have several other WEN products and have found them all to be of highest quality and durability. This is a quality addition for the shop.

I got this to use on my Wen lathe. I have a keyless one but I have problems with it not staying tight and locked on. So I got this keyed chuck. I have used it twice now and have had no problems what so ever. It fits the Drive end of my lathe or the tail of the lathe. It locks in tight and I have been able to chuck up my mandrals with out any issues. This chuck is well balanced and true I have no wobble when spining at any speed. Its heavy and operates very smothly when chucking and unchucking. The chuck key fits the chuck nice and tight so you get smoth turning jaws with no slop when turning the key alowing you to center your bit or mandrel easly. Very happy with this chuck and arbor

This is a replacement chuck and arbor for my drill press. The old chuck was getting hard to open and close and the arbor had developed a bit of eccentricity. The chuck was shipped in a typically great Wen fashion. The assembly slipped right into my mt2 drill press. The system seems to run perfectly true. No wobble at all. That was a big relief since I was concerned that the chuck being out of true could have been due to the drill press. Very smooth action on the chuck. Great product.

What an improvement. My drill press is a 12″ made by Menard’s Masterforce house brand. The smallest bit it can hold is a 3/16″. Now with this Wen, I can drill with 1/16″ bits. What else I like is this chuck is heavy duty. It really grabs onto bits much more securely than my OE chuck. Even the wrench is bigger and easier to hold. For anyone looking to up beef up an inexpensive drill press, this Wen is a great upgrade!
