So far so good. Nice to be able to take asymmetrical shapes and center them.

The WEN 8″ Flat Lathe Chuck Jaws, mounted on a WEN LA4374 3.75″ chuck base is a splendid addition for turning bowls with a diameter greater than the base chuck alone. This flat chuck comes with 2 sets (8 pieces per set) of pins; one set is 1/2″ long, one set is 3/4″ long. Unfortunately this chuck did not have any manual or instructions, but the only issue I encountered was determining what speed to run at. (The NOVA equivalent recommends running at a maximum of 585 rpm.) I have asked WEN about maximum recommended speed, but have not seen a reply yet.
