WEN 15 Amp 12 Inch Compound Miter Saw. Cuts up to a 13 inch board. This is my second miter saw and I got it because it cuts a much wider board then the one I have. I cut a lot of long boards and this saw does it safely vs a table saw. A lot of features: laser guide, work light, nice adjustable hold down clamp, cut depth adjustment, 12 inch 60 tooth saw blade. Has a trigger lock which needs to be pushed while you press the main on-off switch. Takes a bit of getting used to. You can download the instructions off the Home Depot site so you always have a copy. I did have to make several adjustments to cutting angles, laser light which probably should have been made at the factory. Overall a nice looking saw.

This WEN 15 Amp 12 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser is pretty sweet. The saw includes a 12 in. 60 tooth carbide blade with 1 in. arbor, laser guide which is easy to see, LED work light, work clamp, 2 retractable table extensions with work stops, rear support stand, dust bag, and good owner manual. The HD product page description above does a good job of telling what angles and sizes can be cut with it. The saw has a depth of cut adjustment which allows the cutting of kerfs (a nice feature). After unpacking and easy assembly, I set about squaring everything up, and making the final adjustments, which were fairly simple, I made a few test cuts on a piece of 2 in. X 4 in. framing stud. Cuts were clean and angles about as good as it can get. The 60 tooth blade is good for general purpose, but I think for fine trim work like casing, base molding, etc., I’ll want to get a 100 or 80 tooth blade. I may even want to get a blade for cutting non-ferrous metals like aluminum or copper. The dust bag proved to be pretty ineffective. I had way more saw dust on the floor and equipment than in the bag. My shop vac hose fits, so I’ll either use that or do my sawing outside (the most likely scenario). Since this saw draws 15 Amps, and I have a 20 Amp shop circuit, I’ll have to plug the shop vac into a separate circuit to prevent an overload situation. I did find one SMALL area of possible concern. When set for left hand 45 degree bevel at 45 degree miter the blade hit the back of kerf board. I adjusted it to clear, but when I set it for right hand same cut it clears by considerably more and may not make a complete cut all the way to the back. The blade is square and centered, so I don’t see why this is occurring I’m not too concerned about it because It’s not very likely that I’ll be making many (if any) of those cuts. I will, however, contact WEN about it. They seem to have very good customer service and technical people. If I was going to use this saw a lot, I’d definitely want to get a miter saw stand for it. WEN makes one. I have been very pleased with just about every WEN tool I own. This saw will serve me very well for home shop use, and appears to about as good as the (much) higher priced units my sons use as contractors. About the only problem I have now is finding a place to keep it, when not in use.

What a beast compared to my old Miter Saw and at a great price. This saw cuts at any angle, can slice through the hardest woods, does 3800 blade rotations per minute. It bevels and miters up to 45 degrees in either direction and has a front front bevel control for easy adjustment. Cuts boards up to 13 and 3/8″ wide and 3 and 1/2″ thick or makes compound cuts (45 degree bevel & 45 degree m). The package included a 12″ 60 tooth carbide tipped blade w/1″ arbor, 2 retractable table extensions w/work stops to increase the work area up to 38″, 1 clamp assembly, class II laser guide, LED work light and dust bag and you can use the port with your own device. This saw is made of cast aluminum and cuts nylon, PVC, plastic, wood and much more. I started laying new laminate flooring with the old saw and can now can finally finish with my new Wen miter saw, very excited.

For the price paid, this is a good bargain. The laser line is very handy. Have to get used to where it shines in relation to the where the blade cuts. Structurally, it is well made. As far as accuracy related to the written labels, it isn’t exact. I would measure using external methods than relying on the labels on the saw. They are an excellent ballpark starting point but for pure accuracy, measure with your own tools. The dust bag is not really handy but it does catch some of the debris. I’d recommend hooking up the shop vac if you are going to do some volume cutting. Otherwise, use the shop vac to vacuum the floor and saw afterwards. Like I said, it is a good bargain and Wen makes a decent product at a decent price. Probably because it’s not such a hyped brand.

This Wen 12 inch 15 Amp saw is quite a step up from my last 10 inch saw. Sliding Miter, work light and lazer light. 13 inch + board width capability, 7 inch + baseboard trim capability. Depth stop for cutting grooves not all the way through the lumber. 2.5 inch vacuum port, dust collection bag, positive lock angle adjustment. I continue to use Wen products and have yet to be disappointed.
