This versatile machine features a variable speed 15 Amp motor, providing users speeds from 8,000 RPM to 23,000 RPM. The 1/2 in. collet includes an additional 1/4 in. Adapter, allowing for compatibility with a wide variety of bits. Our soft startup design prevents damage to your workpiece and lengthens the tools lifespan. The spring-loaded base features a lock-down knob to turn your plunge router into a fixed router. The intricate depth stop system features a 7-stop turret, a depth adjustment dial that advances the depth stop 5/16 of an inch per quarter turn, and a fine-tune adjustment dial that advances it 1/128 of an inch per quarter turn. The included guide fence lets users rout perfectly straight lines, helping to create dadoes and grooves along the workpiece. WEN 15 Amp Variable Speed Plunge Wood Working Corded Router Kit with Carrying Case and Edge Guide is an economically priced fully capable tool with numerous accessories. It’s a variable speed router that runs up to 23,000 RPM with combined plunge and fixed base capability. It has a powerful 15-amp motor with a soft start up feature. On it is a micro depth adjustment and a seven stop turret in 1/8-inch increments to adjust preciously the required depth. The plunge range is up to 2 3/8-inch . It comes with both 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch collets. It has a number of accessories: a large edge guide, template guide, profile guide, circle cutter center pin, fence scale, 1 1/2-inch dust port, a wrench and a plastic case. No work light. This is a fully capable router without the finish, the castings are not polished, but well done. It uses a good bit of plastic that doesn’t affect its functioning. I should mention this layout doesn’t look like it is suitable for most standard router table mountings. It has a large base, four widely spaced screw holes, needs a custom one.This is larger than routers I now have, own several finish routers. I was looking for something with more power which this definitely has and the ability to accept larger 1/2-inch shank size bits. The plunge operation is smooth and has plenty of power for the biggest cuts. In base mode it is what you’d expect, steady with side handles that keep it under control. Cutting rabbits were a pleasure and the power is definitely there. The edge guide is over-sized, solid with a large plastic and metal face up against the edge unlike other manufacturers that add them as an after thought. WEN concentrated on features that are most helpful in working with routers. It is ideally suited for home woodworking projects, it won’t disappoint. Finally, I had reason to contact their customer service by email. Got a response the same afternoon and found it excellent in taking care of my questions. I have several WEN tools already and found them to be reliable, expect the same from this router.

This is my third 3+ hp router, and I was pleasantly surprised. I first used it on my router table with a 2”/1/2 shank bit to create trim for a book case. It cut the trim in 2 passes no problem. It runs smoothly, it has sufficient power, and the plunge operates smoothly (compared to other low end routers). The only thing I have found lacking in the router is a depth adjustment for downward travel. My other plunge routers have a knob for that adjustment. With this router, you have to use the depth adjustment, and then lock the router plunge with the plunge lock lever.For $90, I don’t think you can beat this router.

This router is even better than I expected. The straight edge guide that comes with it is so easy to use and so useful! I operates very smoothly. It offers 3 different ways to adjust the cutting depth (two knobs and a turret), which is extremely helpful. Both minor and major adjustments are super easy. The height lock and power switches are in just the right places for easy operation. It seems very stable, easy to control, and powerful.

I have a smaller table router/saw combo and wanted to get a heavier duty route to use on larger projects, and this is definitely the one for those! Love the case too, makes it easier for storage in the work area too! Took a pic of this when you first open the case so you get the same first view as I did.. nice!

The router has somewhat minimalist features in that it has no elevation stop – just a depth stop. The arbor lock stuck and had to be pried out and the plastic sanded until it moves in and out more easily. For the price it will work for very simple router needs. The rods and fences are something most routers don’t have, but most people who use routers a lot have other homemade fixtures that work just as well or better. It does have soft start and variable speed that work well.

Bits need to be changed using an included wrench. The 1/4″ collet fits well and is relatively easy to use. The router must be fully released to insert a bit; this is a fast jump that is surprising.Overall, this is a nice, versatile fixed/plunge router with good basic features. It has a variable speed, fence guide and circle cutting pin and other helpful accessories. It comes with its own case. It is great for DIY woodworking projects.

Where do I start with this router kit there is so many fantastic features, I have own several different routers but never one that was as complete and versatile as this one. Having two different size collets makes it where you can use just about any size and style bit that you can imagine. The height adjustment make it so easy to adjust the height of the bit right down to perfect for you project. The instruction book that comes with it is very helpful and clear to understand. The hard case comes with pre-molded slots for all the accessories for easy storage and is designed to keep the pieces in place during moving. I am looking forward to expanding my routing experience with this router.
