I have used West Bend brand poppers for over 30 years. This is most like the original that lasted the longest. The models that separate the coil base from the popper plate seem dangerous in that oil can seep into the heat mechanism during the cooking process. I almost ordered two of these since we don’t know if the next model will be as safe. Love this and the popcorn is perfect!!!

This is our 3rd Stir Crazy over the years ( we pop a LOT of corn – multiple batches every week.). WE have had more expensive poppers from other brands, but they just couldn’t produce the same popping action. We don’t have many unpopped kernels with the Stir Crazy – the heating element gets very hot so I suspect this is whey. We pop back – to -back batches and it works like a champ.
