I recently purchased this after looking around for it in my area. I had one years ago and moved out of the country and had to leave it. I love the griddle also, it is great for heating pizza and other leftovers. I just wrap them in foil, sit them on the griddle and place the top on over the foiled food.

Perfect for smaller meals and cleanup (so lightweight) is great! I use it for soups and roasts but have never used the gill surface. I had a vintage one, that I thought I should replace as it was getting scratched inside the vessel…but wouldn’t have, otherwise as I loved it…lol! It’s also pretty easy to store. I didn’t give it a 5 only because of all the plastic around the bottom…but so far, it seems ok even after using all day (on low).

Purchased this slow cooker a few weeks ago to replace a 12yr old West Bend slow cooker. Must say the quality and performance has not changed over the years. Love this unit and highly recommend to anyone that wants a quality inexpensive slow cooker.

I inherited my mom cooker and it still worked great but the pan was really beat up inside so I decided to replace it. I bought this new one and i used it to cook a roast 2 days after I got it. It works just like my old one and it works beautifully. I love it plus I love the new color Red. Would definitely recommend this cooker. So much better than a regular crock pot because it cooks faster or slow if you prefer.

I’ve had many of these slow cookers over the past 40 years. The pots always wear out long before the heating base. No matter how careful I am with hand washing the nonstick surface it bubbles and flakes after a few months of use. Then I buy another one because I like it so much. Just wish the pots were more durable.

I bought this to replace one that the coating on inside of pan coming off. We like having a light weight pan that was easy to use but now that these are made China will not purchase any more until they once again made in the USA.

I ‘ve had 2 of these over many years. Hard to find in stores. I like to brown meat in the pot on the stove, then slow cook it. No other slow cooker lets you do this. When the meat is done I put it on a platter, put the platter on the base, put the lid over the platter. This allows me to make the gravy in the pot on the stove. Make chili by browning the meat, drain, and slow cook the rest. Just love it!

I bought this slow cooker in Dec 2019. I had had a Westbend slow cooker like this in the 80s or 90s and I loved it. It is not heavy like other slow cookers, and I find that it cooks better and the temperatures are more controllable than the crock pot type slow cookers. I also like that I can brown something in the pot on the stove first, then put it directly on the slow cooker base. But one day, I was happily cooking away with it one day when all of sudden I heard a very loud “clack”. I swung around to see that the base of the slow cooker had cracked clear through the name on the front. There is still something inside holding it together, and it still cooks fine, but the crack was and is a bit disconcerting. Makes me a little worried that I shouldn’t leave it on when I am not home or am asleep. My first one never did this and I had it for years. I still recommend the cooking system on this unit, but the base design apparently needs to be improved to better tolerate the heat that it produces.

I was replacing my old 20 YEAR old West Bend slow cooker, the same style. I use this appliance all the time. The only way i could find this style was through the West Bend web site. I braise meats on the stove and then add water to slow cook and this pot is the best for cooking corn on the cob. The newer design is a little more deep than the old, but does not take any more space. I have no need for a carrying case.
