I ‘ve had 2 of these over many years. Hard to find in stores. I like to brown meat in the pot on the stove, then slow cook it. No other slow cooker lets you do this. When the meat is done I put it on a platter, put the platter on the base, put the lid over the platter. This allows me to make the gravy in the pot on the stove. Make chili by browning the meat, drain, and slow cook the rest. Just love it!

Have owned several West Bend slow cookers! This is the same dependability that the others have proven. However I wish they had a better inside surface that doesn’t chip off. That’s the only reason I replace them!
