I use WD Black as my primary drive on my desktop, I know it’s a little slow compared to a SSD but because I move a lot of files and folders it is probably the best of both worlds give what I do.

I have been using WD Black desktop drives across two desktops for data storage for several years. I currently have 8 in use. In additon to great performace they are backed by a 5-year warranty, which is the best in this class of drives. All drives, regardless of brand, may (and likely will) fail at some point in time. WD’s no-nonense system for replacement makes this drive a great choice. You will pay more than you will for some of their other varieties, but in terms of overall performance, you do get what you pay for. I am not a fan of so-called green drives, which go to sleep when not in use. This can be an issue in situations of heavy use, where instant acess is required at all times.

It works and runs fast as described. Nicely priced. Runs quiet.

Replaced internal 1tb 5400 rpm drives (3) in desktop computer. Immediate increase in system speed. Increased storage capacity is very welcome.

Got a quick check on the product compatibility with their chat line and is Exactly what i wanted for my Quad Tower. Great way to make your customers feel safe in their purchases.

I purchased two of these drives. My ASUS deluxe x299 motherboard cannot see them. It sees all kinds of WD drives, but not these new ones. In my research on the web I see that many people are having issues with these drives. I wish I would have done my research before I bought them. Now all I have is two $200 door stops.

Drive was a little heavier than I expected, but still sits pretty well in my case and was installed easily. Being used as a secondary storage drive while the primary SSD is for Windows. Been about a month and so far there are no problems. The big deal breaker for me was the 5-year warranty on a Western Digital product, so I will see how this turns out down the road.

I use light room and Photoshop every day. I need security of knowing that the hard drive will load and respond with no delay. This is my third WD black HD and so far no problems what so ever.5 year warranty should say use with confidence.

Hopefully will be dependable, only time will tell. It makes quite a bit of noise.

I ordered two of them and one had a bad block luckily B&H return policy made it easy to exchange no question ask. 5 stars for B&h.

I’ve bought 4 of these drives recently as I am obsessive about keeping my system backed up. They just work great. What more can I say!

2T WD Black internal hdd works great. Use it in my external hard drive shell with a esata connection to my D*** Set top Box for much more space for DVR recordings than D***** provides.

This was to replace a hard drive that was failing. The Western Digital Hard Drive was easy to install and the restore process was also easy.

I am using Western Digiital Caviar Black HDD for a long time. 5 years of warranty is very important marker for me to buy such drives. I am sure in reliable storage for my data, pictures and video.

Bought this to go along with the 6TB WD Black HDD in my Plex server. Now I have room for some 4K UHD videos. No complaints!

Once my trouble shooting convinced me that the secondary internal hard drive had to be replaced, I ordered the WD internal DRV from B&H. It arrived quickly and I installed it in a few minutes. The 4TB gave me a lot of space to move caches, backups, and seldom used programs from the (C:) drive into the (D:) drive. No more red warnings about running out of space in the former.

The Western Digital 1TB Desktop Performance Caviar Black HDD Retail Kit (WD1003FZEX) is a quality internal computer hard drive. The B&H store sells this drive at a very reasonable price, and provides fast shipping. I’ve used it on a refurbished desktop computer and expect to get over five years of service. I plan on purchasing more of these dives to provide a second data drive and a portable external hard drive this I can depend on. There are no negatives about this drive.

About 4 years ago I built a home theater PC that I have hooked to my 65 LG OLED tv. I use it to store movies, tv shows, music, really just media of any variety. Keeps me from having to dig out a DVD every time I want to watch a movie. Anyway, the 2tb WD Black that I’d built into the machine was pretty much packed to the screws, so I decided to replace it with a pretty serious upgrade. I went back to a WD Black drive because the existing one hadn’t given me a second of trouble in the time it’s been in use, and that’s despite it being full, and kinda warm in a rather small HTPC enclosure. This thing is an absolute moose of a drive. I used a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter to format the drive and transfer my media data onto it prior to installation. Format took about 10 hours, and the transfer of about 1.7t took about 4 hours. HDDs are pretty old tech at this point, but with a 7200rpm platter speed and 256mb of cache, it really keeps up well! My OS is on a 2.5 SSD and my processor is an AMD A8-7600 so the rest of the computer isn’t cutting-edge technology. This behemoth fits perfectly in the system, and I look forward to another 5+ years of service, during which time I’m going to stuff it with every movie I can find!
