I bought these as a replacement for my old cutters that got destroyed by cutting two wires (one mislabeled).I say I am less than impressed, not because they don’t work, or feel cheap – they are quite the opposite. Durably made and well designed. The less that impressive part is the quality of executing the design. The “shift” button is very fiddly and does not operate spoothly between the cutting modes. I have to press it and hunt by jiggling the handles – until it engages the compound cutting. Releasing the compound mode is fine.Definitely something I cannot use single-handed if I need to change modes.While these cutters are perfectly functional, they do not match the quality I have come to expect from Wiha.

I don’t cut a lot of things, mainly safety wire. .041 safety wire but when cutting a lot of this stuff it can be tiresome on the hands without a good pair of cutters. the Compound cutter with the power button certainly makes difficult cuts a little easier. wish I’d had a pair of these a long time ago. Well worth the money spend.

These really make a huge difference in the amount of effort needed to cut. If you need to cut something really tough, like through a screw, these are basically like mini-bolt cutters. Seem better built than your average big box hardware store brands, too. Good bang for the buck.

I purchased these cutters about a month ago. Product would have been a 5 star rating, however the cutters have a tendency to lock up in between the selectable modes. I dropped the pliers from 3 feet the other day and the tool opened up at the hinge. Thought it was a total goner, however it just needed to set back into proper alignment. Kinda gimmicky Wiha! However I am very satisfied with the durability of the cutting edge. I’ve cut some #10’s and metal snakes that have damaged some of your competitors lineman’s. Another tool that’s going to end up lost in the bottom of the back up tool bag
