This is the highest quality vise I have ever used. Wilton vises are worth the extra money. The smooth operation will give its user a lifetime of service. This vise comes with a bench mounting bracket that also included a hitch pin. If had to include one complaint it would be that the handle doesn’t slide. Otherwise this vise is perfect.

I have wanted a vise for sometime, but really couldn’t afford to buy one . When I saw the add for this “All Terrain truck Vise” I just had to have one. Being able to use this vise in the shop and Field pushed me over the edge to buy. I like my vise !!!!

This is a really nice vise. The finish is excellent, the screw turns smoothly, the jaws feel indestructible, the weight is good, but not too heavy and it can be used either as a fixed bench vise or mobile.I’ve owned a few vises over the years and they perform a simple task – to hold an object, so you can work on it. Some were heavy and solid, while others felt cheap. None were very portable and due to the difficulty of moving them, they were fixed objects in my garage. This Wilton vise is ingenious. There is an option to use this vise in the workshop (mount it to a bench), or mount it on the tow hitch of your truck. The versatility of having a tow hitch mounted vise is great for me, since I do not have a utility bed on my truck, therefore I do not have a mobile vise. Using an existing tow hitch receiver is brilliant! This vise slides right into the receiver and is ready to use.I have also mounted this vise on my work bench. The quality is excellent and it woks great as a fixed bench vise. The installation was easy – just four bolts. I can move it from my work bench to the truck in minutes. The vise is solid, but not too heavy, so it’s portable.Using this vise on the tow hitch is great, however I did notice that the suspension of the truck causes some of the force to be dissipated. My truck also moved forward and back, even though the parking brake was on. The truck also moves side to side when forces are on the object in the vise. It’s definitely different than working on a bench vise, but short of building a table and moving the vise and the table to the work site, this is the best option. Also, my truck is not a Heavy Duty truck. It’s a new body style 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Long Bed. I can imagine that this would work a lot better with a stronger suspension and stiffer tires, such as a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. For those thinking about getting this vise, my recommendation is a definite yes. It’s a very well made, durable and can be used as either a bench vise or a portable, hitch mounted vise.

This vise has to be the most versatile tool out there. The ability to attach the vise on to my trailer hitch is extremely helpful. I was able to cut some rebar at my job last week. In the past I did not have a vise at my destination and would just step on what I was cutting. This raised concerns about safety. This vise is a no-brainer for anymore that is working out in the field.

I’ve no idea why nobody thought of this before, this is such a simple concept that has a multitude of uses. Here on my ranch I often have the need to perform in-the-field repairs, and this truck vise just made that job a whole lot easier. The jaws open to almost 6″, more than enough for all my needs. The vise also doubles as an Anvil, which is also very handy when out in the field. I use this vice on the rear hitch receiver and also on my front end receiver. I plan to buy another bench mount and attach this to one of my trailers.I love the fact that the vise can be removed from the truck and inserted in to the provided bench mount. I have a number of vises in my workshop, but this is always my go to vice. The quality is awesome.

I really like the heavy duty nature of this, even though I don’t have a truck. I do like the fact that it is large as I do quite a bit of wood work. It’s better than a bench, or stepping on the work piece that I’ve done in the past. I am getting ready to bolt this to my garage work bench. Wish I had this a long time ago.

This is a very high quality vise. The trailer hitch mounting idea is unique and is somewhat useful. I won’t use it all the time like this, but it does work. The vise is a little low on a regular truck. A vise is normally mounted at the height of the bed to be more ergonomic. The vise wobbles a little in the trailer hitch. There are two grub screws that are supposed to improve the fit, but I couldn’t get them to work.I think the bench mounting bracket is more useful. I went without a vise for years because I needed the open space on the workbench. I found the mounting bracket can be attached to the side of the workbench. It should have been designed like this, but all you need to do is drill one hold in the bracket to insert the pin and secure the vise. When side mounted the vise can be removed and you have a clear work bench again. The vise is still a little wobbly in the mounting bracket.I put the value as low since a normal vise is less than half the cost. Not sure the unique design is worth the added cost.

Medium duty utility vise that fits into any standard hitch mount. Also comes with its own bracket for bench use. You can take it from auto to bench with ease. Can be locked to the truck with a locking pin, not included. Secure, unpadded grip. Nice finish and it seems sturdy as its quite heavy. Good field utility vise with a large platform.

This is absolutely one of the best truck vises I’ve come across. The machining on it makes it a very precise chunk of useful metal that will slide into your receiver or use the mount to attach it to a trailer, tailgate or counter and use it wherever it can go. It has got some good heft to it and the machine work helps to shed weight so it does not strain your back lugging it around. You can buy a case separately to store it so I would plan on that because it’s worth protecting this investment. It’s nice, nice, nice and you certainly will have friends asking you where you got it. I’m going to make this my shop vise and take my old 80lb one in for scrap.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how handy this is to have on my truck hitch. I have used it to work on my mtn. bike tire, to hold a piece of iron fencing I was attaching a handle to, and to hold a piece of wood trim I needed to cut. I imagine anyone who does construction work would use this a lot. Thinking about getting one for my brother for Christmas. It says lightweight but it isn’t less than 25 lbs.

I attached the vise to the toe hitch and connected it with the Pin which came with it. I needed a vise at my summer home and was able to easily transport it there a keep my mess outside. Upon returning home I attached the vise to my workbench using the attachment included with the vise for use in my workshop. It is heavy duty, well made, very portable and strong. Well worth the cost, convenience and portability.

Wilton All Terrain Truck Vise is an excellent Vise for all those times you wished you had a second hand and resorted to vise grips,I don’t know how many times I could have used this vise.It is heavy and well cast,The worm gear is smooth without any slop or play and glides easily. The handle is short but designed that way for clearance when on a vehicle. It also comes with a slide mount to attach to a work bench so it is dual purpose. Now all I need is a locking receiver pin otherwise I know someone will try to steal it.You cant go wrong with this one its that good.
