The WISS Metalmaster® bulldog snips are used for notching or trimming extra heavy stock. The non-slip serrated jaws are made from molybdenum steel for compound lever action. They withstand strain of cutting heavy stock and tight curves. They have spring action for quick, effortless feed. They cut low carbon cold rolled steel. The M5R is 9-1/4 In. long.

These snips worked very well on thick steel. I assume the blade on these is so short because they are designed to cut up to 16 gauge steel, which I did. When making cuts longer than about 1″, or the length of the blade a straight blade like this becomes problematic. Home Depot did not carry an offset version of this tool, if it even exists, which would have made my particular job easier.
