I had some decorative sheet metal to cut and tried to use my regular snips and ended up looking like I had a fight with something sharp. I googled how to cut sheet metal and a website recommended offset aviation snips. Since I had a lot more cutting to do, I ordered these online and picked them up the next morning. With the correct tool, I got it all done quickly and without injury.

Tin snips like this cut best either in a straight line or in a curve to one side or the other. That is they can cut straight ahead or curving to the right, but not curving to the left, or vice versa. This particular set is left cutting – that is they cut straight ahead or in a curve to the left. You can try to force them to cut to the right, but it doesn’t come out very well. This pair of snips is offset to keep your hands above the sheet you are cutting, which is nice because it keeps your fingers mostly above the cut edges of the sheet metal. If I’m going to cut very much sheet metal I wear gloves anyway since those sharp cut edges can make a nasty cut. I used these on roofing sheet metal and they cut easily and smoothly so long as you are cutting in a straight line or a curve to the left.

Good tool, can cut curves in either direction. It does leave little teeth marks in your cut, but those can be grinded off.

As with any tool a different tool makes a difference. This tool the Offset Snips are the perfect tool for cutting metal because it is offset where a straight cut does not always works. The feature that I like about this tools is haw easy it is to use to , it has easy grips to hang on to the tool plus it is easy to store. I just received the tool a couple of days ago. It meets and exceeds all expectations plus I will recommend this tool to anyone who may ask.

The right tool for the job. I purchased these snips to cut a couple tight circles in some existing duct work.

I needed an offset pair of snips to install decorative metal backsplash. These were better than expected. I could accurately trim 1/32″ with ease. I’ve got 5 pair of aviation snips and these are now my favorite.

As with all Wiss aviation snips these are as well made as money can buy. The slightly serrated blades grip the material to be cut, but still provide a neat, clean edge. Further, their offset design ensures that the cut best allows for the material to pass through without buckling or bending as can so often be an issue. A welcome addioton at a a reasonable price.

This is another great tool from Wiss, very accurate and easy to use. I used them the day I received them to install a metal roof on my wishing well, they worked great without much effort on my part’ The roof came out great, looks great and now matches my house. the rubber grips makes them very easy to use and hold on to. They worked great cutting straight and nipping out small pieces to fit the roof lines.

These M8 offset snips make cutting material so much easier as you’re able to hold the snips at a more natural angle. The hardened serrated blades slice through metal with ease. These snips are rated to cut up to 18 gauge steel. That’s pretty darn thick for hand-held snips!I currently own a Wiss green pair, a yellow pair (straight cut) and have had them for ever. Wiss snips are pretty dang sturdy and gets the job done. These offset snips will find a nice home next to its buddies on the workshop wall!
