The CRESCENT WISS® Single Ring Shears feature full-length steel blades that extend through the handles for maximum strength. These heavy-duty blades have a titanium coating that is 3 times harder than steel for extra durability and a longer blade life. Sharp and precise. The spring loaded action makes cutting a breeze. The blades must be cleaned before next use or they will stick. But, tools should be cleaned before being put away anyways. I highly recommend these shears!

Great cutting ability but dislike the single ring. Wish this blade was offered in the classic handle. When cutting close to your waist it is easy to pinch yourself in the stomach with the closing handles, and its painful.

My frustrations with buying and replacing an innumerable number of heavy duty, titanium coated, kitchen scissors (Fiskars, Kitchenaid, etc.) to open the tsunami of plastic packaging that overwhelms us today persuaded me to conduct my first consumer test. I went to Home Depot and bought five different models of heavy duty scissors from Wiss and Milwaukee in the $10 to $20 range. The hands down winner was this model from Wiss. The run away victory is due to its unique construction. A design difference I did not really note when first purchased. But is the only one of the five which is not technically termed as scissors but “Single Ring Shop Shears”. At first look it was not obvious to me the different design would provide much better leverage than the other pure “scissors” models. .But it does and they were left choking on its plastic wake as it ripped through the package. My only complaint being the little slide switch used to keep the “shears” closed when not in use needs improvement to operate more smoothly.
