When I ordered the Wiss 12-1/2 in. Heavy Duty Industrial Shears, I got more than I bargained for. These really are for industrial use. They are huge and heavy. Well made and solidly built, they will last a lifetime, or more correctly, several lifetimes. These shears are able to snip through material that other shears can only try to “chew” through. As the manufacturer claims they are, “ideal for cutting fabrics, upholstery, and composite materials.” Years ago, my mother did dress-making and would only use Wiss brand scissors and shears. She swore by the quality, and that’s still true today.

Oh boy — these are certainly industrial strength. They are 13 inches long from end to end and should cut through just about anything. They are heavier than regular scissors but should be able to do the job if/when you need heavy scissors with a great cutting edge. I tried them on paper first and they cut perfectly and were easy to use. I will keep them handy in my garage.

Wiss 12-1/2 in. Heavy Duty Industrial Shears are not those inexpensive one’s that seem to be all around. This is a substantial pair of shears, 12 1/2-inches long, weigh 1 1/4-pounds and nickel plated with an adjustable pivot setting screw. A real screw setting for the blade pivot is a sign of not taking short cuts in the manufacture. The blades are sharp and the hand holes are large, enough to comfortably hold in the hand. These are general purpose shears that can be used for cutting thicker materials like canvass, furniture upholstery work and thick plastic sheeting.I am using them for my wallpapering projects where a clean cut is a necessity. With a sharp pair like these making long straight clean cuts makes everything go faster. I have another twelve inch shears and this pair is far better of the two in comparision. I expect these shears will give me plenty of years of use as I plan to take good care of them.

These heavy duty industrial shears are LARGE! Their size reminds me of tin snips. The length from tip to tip is 12 ¼ inches and weigh 1.2 pounds. I used then to cut ¼ inch cardboard and it was like passing a hot knife through butter! The handle rings are comfortable – even for my large hands. I can get all four fingers into the large ring but wrapping my pinky around the bottom of the ring is a bit more comfortable. The tips are very sharp and the shears come with a red plastic slide on cover that I plan to keep on – especially when I store them in the plastic hang up case that’s provided. The product description says that these shears would be excellent for cutting fabrics, upholstery, and composite materials. I think that’s accurate. I also tried cutting through an old leather belt and had no difficulty whatsoever. The blades are forged nickel plated and I think this tool will provide many years of good service for a very reasonable price – assuming you can handle the weight.

I have not really tested the shears yet. Seem to be well made and cut well. These shears are large and have good heft. Will mostly use to cut cardboard and other somewhat heavy items. Plan to continue using smaller, light duty scissors for paper, string, etc.

This twelve and a half inch set of heavy duty industrial shears are a man-sized set of shears. Some projects require a tool that cuts better than your average pair of standard household shears. This is that set of shears and will be the perfect addition to the tool box! They come packaged with a plastic tip protector and plastic case which is an added bonus and will come in handy for storage too.

This review is for the CRESCENT Wiss INLAID 22 industrial shears. If you need shears for cutting leather, carpet padding for under rugs or heavy and wide woven or plastic strapping and similar tough materials, this shears will do the job. It is a bit on the heavy side, weighing about 1 lb., four oz., that not an issue for me. Overall it is about 12-3/8 inches long with effective blade cutting length of 6 inches. The handles fit my large hand well and are well-shaped and smooth enough so that cutting tough materials has caused me no hand discomfort. It is not as smooth-cutting as another industrial shears I have, but it works well and should last a long time.

Heavy-duty, well-designed, they do the job.

These shears are big, heavy duty, very sharp, and well made. I use them to cut heavy fiberglass material for boat building and if they can cut this stuff they can cut nearly any material. Price was good compared other vendors but I ordered form Home Depot because they stand behind their merchandise. Only criticism is that they were poorly packaged for shipping. I ordered two pair and the box was partly open upon arrival.

Very impressive product. I needed to cut some sheets of rejected office copy paper into note-sized sheets. Usually, I use a monster old fashioned paper cutter (the type with the long sharp hinged cutting bar that works great but is scary dangerous). This time I used these shears and I was blown away by how the shears easily cut stacks over 20 pages thick. Essentially effortless cutting. These shears have very crisp edges and the handles are large so that my fingers and thumb have ample surface area for both gripping and applying pressure. The pivot operates very smoothly, yet it is positive and firm without wobble or play. Great product.

Order these twelve and half inch heavy duty industrial shears because I thought they would work for me in my yard work. They are extremely heavy in fact heavier than I imagined but they are well made and for a person without my problems they would work well. Being sharp with large handles and long blades but it takes two hand for me to handle them.

These are some serious shears! Weighing in at just under 21 ounces, they measure 13 inches in total length and the cutting edges measure almost 6.5 inches. The pivot tightness is adjustable with the turn of a screw. Made of dropped forged steel and plated with nickel, they are rugged and likely to last a very long time. The cutting edges are sharp and the cutting action is smooth and not sticky and do a fine job cutting cloth and paper products.
