Whoa! I almost didn’t get to review these neat little scissors. My wife saw these and pretty much all but confiscated them. They are that nice. In the hand, you get this tight precision feel that you expect from a professional tool. Cut with confidence – you don’t have to worry about these things mangling anything you are going to cut. Really well thought out for a pair of scissors. First theres the scissors – everybody gets that. Then in the back of the jaws you have a cable cutter that cuts cleanly. Wire strippers are built into the top blade for 18-23 awg. The thick edge of the blade is serated for reaming conduit. There is a grip area between the handles which I am sure will come in handy some day. And I just noticed they are set up for lefties as well. Nice little pair of scissors – just make sure you pick up a second pair!

This 6 ⅜” long scissor with 1½” cutting length on the blades are small with big handle loops so that they are very easy to use. This scissor is especially designed for low voltage applications such as CAT5, coaxial cable, data cables, and security system wiring. The scissor blade portion is used to completely cut through small wire. The larger notch is used to cut a bundle wire cable like CAT5 and coaxial cable. The two smaller notches are used to hold a 19 or 23 gauge wire in a small notch then slide the wire down to strip the small wire. The scissor blade area has one side serrated that helps hold a wire in place while you cut it. There is also serration on the outside of the blades to deburr conduit and electrical box knockouts. Another feature is a curved metal section on the inside of each handle to hold and twist off a plastic wire connector. The two wire stripper notches are not marked 19 and 23. This scissor is very well designed for its purpose and it has a rugged steel construction with a titanium coating. The blades are pretty sharp and should last without becoming nicked.

As good as the competitors at nearly half the price. A must-have for the electrician, hobbiest, and maker. Something that HD should consider carrying in-store.

‘The Wiss 6 3/8″ Electrician’s / Data Scissors are well designed as well as very well made, these scissors performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems…I have always used Klein electrician’s scissors, which are very well made and have a lifetime guarantee, however after using the Wiss electrician’s scissors, I prefer the Wiss scissors over the Klein scissors…I have large hands, so for me Wiss scissors are easier to hold and far easier to get my fingers in the handles…

A must have in the toolbox of anyone that is a bit more than just a home handyman, especially if you do some type of electrical work from time to time. I particularly like the Integrated 19 and 23 AWG wire strippers the grip zone in handles for tightening wire nuts and crimping. While I don’t work with steel boxes and conduit much these days, they also have serrations on outside of blades for reaming knockouts in electrical boxes if you do. Pair with some Klein screwdrivers and electricians plyers, your all set!

This Crescent Wiss electrician/data scissor is a quality tool. It has comfortable grips with a “grip zone” between the handles to hold things tight with it while you work the object with the other hand, serrated outside edges for reaming, and an integrated cable cutter. It also has two integrated wire strippers for 19 AWG and 23 AWG. The scissors are titanium coated 3X harder than steel.

These electrician scissors are feature packed and high quality. Not only do they cut, but they strip and grip too. There is a grooved area just above the handle that allows you to grip and pull insulation off of wires after you score it with the scissors. There are also 2 notches that allow you to easily strip fine data/telephone wire without damaging it. The handles are a great shape and fit comfortably in the hand. you could use these all day without getting fatigued.

These are typical datacomm snips with some nice improvements. The blades are the same size, the wire stripping notches are the same and the basic functions are typical. The handles are larger than my traditional snips, however, which I like a lot. Instead of gripping the outside of them, I can actually get my fingers into the handles and open the snips properly. They also open and close smoothly. The large groove in the blade grips CAT-6 cable well and makes cuts easy. I also use the same cutting groove for stripping the insulation off the outside of the cable. The blades are sharp, however. One quick turn with the cable cutter around the jacket is enough to score it so it can be twisted / flexed off. Two turns cut through the outside jacket and the insulation around the twisted pairs inside. The “grip zones” on the handles are only marginally helpful. I wasn’t able to grip much, and I just didn’t really see the point. Other than that one rather useless feature, these are great snips. Better than my old snips.

This is a tool that once used is handier than perhaps you thought it might be. The wire strippers are great when you happen to be working with the right gauge wire to get the use from them. And the material and build of the scissors make them perfect for cutting the same wire they are stripping. For my application they are just the thing. I use that size wire a lot. The large handles and small blades give you plenty of torque on the cut keeping the effort minimal. When building something like a wiring harness this can help on the hand fatigue especailly if you are starting to experience a little arthritis in the hands like I am. You take all the help you can get. The grippers are a nice feature but I personally don’t use that a lot since I have gone to using wago lever nuts for a number of things now. (A lot of my wiring is in a lab type environment or on home hobby projects)

this product should be called a data communication scissors. easily, cleanly cuts cat5 & cat6cable, and the small gauge wires when they need to be trimmed. I now consider these scissorsan essential tool for network wiring.

These are great snips. Comfortable, cut cleanly and as an added bonus, usually no one else on the job site have the same ones. Would be nice to have a holster for them.

It works great but it takes a little time to get use to it.

Initial thoughts great little pair of scissors, my only complaint is they aren’t very ergonomic, and continued use will put a strain on the fingers, only time will tell.

This is a very nice pair of scissors for the professional who deals with communications wiring. These are very comfortable in your hands and not to large. The blades are very sharp for cutting and stripping cable or wiring. These have two notches for stripping back wire to attach to connectors or blocks. It also has a nice crimper in the handle for wire nuts or cable connectors.
