Stout, sturdy and SHARP! These convenient small scissors are equal in quality to my expensive German electrician’s scissors, but have more features and are a better value. We have four pairs of Wiss scissors, and all of them have provided superbly easy cutting. The main pair I use most are the shears, which have seen frequent use in my shop over two years. They remain sharp, are very smooth and comfortable to use. That’s why I jumped at the chance to get these, even though I already have another pricey pair of Electrician’s scissors. The Integral wire strippers are sized for 19 and 23 AWG wire, but they work well on both smaller and slightly larger wire I sometimes must use. Between the handles are two steel areas Wiss calls the “grip zone.” These hard steel plates have ridges that grip wire-nuts for fast-easy twisting ON or OFF. The extra leverage provided makes that job much more comfortable, especially when you have to install or remove many wire nuts. The grip zone works on bottle caps too! ;-)The “cable cutter” hole or “groove” ( as they call it ) provides tenacious grip on coated wire. They are VERY sharp, but Wiss wisely left the microscopic serrations from grinding. In conjunction with the “groove” those small serrations grab coax, phone cable and data wire instantly. Wire can’t escape! On the outside edges of both blades are coarse serrations that make quick work of reaming knock-out holes or pipe ends. Mechanical advantage from the wide handles makes those jobs easy. Like all the Wiss scissor tools I have, these cut beautifully. These are especially tough because of their thick-short blades which give great mechanical advantage. They cut through tough blister-wrap packaging like butter, make clean cuts through thick coax, and snip small wires as easily as hair. A crucial feature I love about this design ( and other Wiss scissors) is the adjustable nut at the pivot point. That allows you to keep the blades close to each other and tight to the work. That also means you can disassemble these for sharpening. Although I haven’t had to sharpen them yet, that’s a great feature for any pair of scissors. It means you can keep your tools for many years instead of throwing them away when dull. That’s good business! It’s good for your wallet and the environment! If you want to see more about Wiss scissors, I will provide a video link.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4GTRoWY3DAEven better… check them in person at any Home Depot. The instant you feel them in your hand, you can sense the quality. The sound tells you these shear precisely. The handles are soft and don’t pinch. It’s difficult to find any fault with tools this good. The only suggestion I could offer is, I wish Wiss made a carrying-case or belt-pouch for these. They are so versatile and useful, I like to keep them nearby at all times! And you don’t need to be an electrician to justify getting a pair, especially considering the bargain price. I like these better than the best American brand and those expensive Teutonic tools. Highly recommended!

These are great snips. Comfortable, cut cleanly and as an added bonus, usually no one else on the job site have the same ones. Would be nice to have a holster for them.

The serrated edge on one of the blades and the razor sharp edge on the hefty blades will open anything scissors can be applied to and more. It not only cuts most wire easily, it also cuts through thin plastic bags that often get pushed between the blades of normal scissors. The serrated edge makes the difference – but be careful because these will not let things slip out after the scissors start to cut. These do not have a long cutting edge, but for their size, electrician scissors work better than any other scissors I have ever tried. I now have several pairs and use them for tasks all over the house, including electrical work.

These are better than the Klein brand by a long shot. They should be carried in the store.
