I got just the tool because I already have 5 20 V batteries. It is a semi bright light. But does a good job at illuminating a smaller area. You get approx. 2 hours out of one battery in my case I just keep one charging. I would have given it a 5 star rating if it had a way of charging the battery built in . That way you could keep the battery fresh if you had a way of plugging it in.
