The Worx WX550L takes the precision and control of a Jig saw and the power and aggressiveness of a reciprocating saw and puts them into one compact cutting machine. The axis has a head that pivots, allowing it to convert from a Jig saw to a compact reciprocating saw and visa-versa. The chuck holds both reciprocating saw blades as well as T-Shank Jig saw blades, so you are free to use the blade that is ideal for the task at hand. The axis has an Orbital mode for those tough reciprocating tasks and a variable speed trigger for precise control in both modes. The axis has a no-load speed of 3,000 SPD and a 3/4 in. stroke length. The axis is powered by the Worx 20-Volt Li-on battery, which is part of the power share 20-Volt battery program and it is interchangeable with other 20-Volt Worx tools.

I bought this tool for two reasons. First, I need to replace some boards in my 25 year old deck need to be replaced. The jig saw will be useful to cut them to size. Second, I have s few woody small trees that are encroaching on my mound. The Sabre saw is doing a good job cutting them.

Even though the Worx AXIS had good reviews across the internet, I still had my doubts before I bought it. But now, WOW, this is a great concept, the tool performed much better than I expected. The 2 in 1 tool saves you time, space, & money, while still giving you quality performance and has a long lasting battery as well, a fast charger would have given this kit the complete package. I highly recommend the Worx AXIS !

Hard to give a rating as we only just bought this saw. Wondering if it is okay to cut cedar tree trunks (cutting them about half way down the tree as they are too big now). Don’t want to use it without being sure.

Product is very versatile in its ability to switch between reciprocating and jig saw modes. Abundant power in both modes. For light to moderate tree pruning this is a better option than my small chain saw. Cordless design with interchangeable battery packs is a great way to go. Very happy with this purchase and will add other Worx tools in the near future. My only criticism is for the user’s manual. Very sparse on information and directions. The pictorial instructions are too vague for a non-handyman like me. I figured it all out, but I think it should have been easier. No worries though – this is very good gear.
