The little rubber inside would become loose on its own and the M.2 stick would pop out halfway from the socket. Resulting in nightmares. It happened more the one time AND while its just sitting around on the desk. Go get some other housing. Not sure what.

I like the tool-less setup with this enclosure. But I really like that this enclosure has the Realtek RTL9210B-CG chipset. That allows it to work with both NVMe and SATA (NGFF) drives. I tested both, and they worked fine. SATA speeds were decent (463 MB/s). Unfortunately, I don’t have USB 3.2 Gen 2 available so couldn’t check that. I did get 878 MB/s with the WD SN550 using an old addon card. (all measurements with CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4 x64)

Does what it says it does and it does so in style. It deserves 5 stars. I would give it six stars if it also came with an angular (90 degrees) USB-C cable, to minimize what sticks out from it when it is connected.

With the Samsung 2TB 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 Internal SSD I get around 950 MB/s read/write speeds. The case has a very loose fit and slides off too easily. I have two of these enclosures and they’re both loose. I’m going to look for one that has a tighter and more secure fit…maybe something that stays shut with a screw.

Perfect work with my M.2SSD disc…

Very nice fit and finish. Would like to see a set screw to securely lock device, I think if I dropped it, it would open. I installed PNY CS2130 4TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen 3 x4 SSD, very very fast.
