Expand your capabilities with the Xcellon Portside Dock for MacBook Pro & Air. The matching aluminum finish offers users a unified look and it’s compact enough to fit in your everyday bag. It converts the dual Thunderbolt 3 ports on the side of your system into seven options: a Thunderbolt 3 pass-through, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, both an SD and microSD card reader, and a 60 Hz HDMI port. Its primary USB Type-C port, acting as a Thunderbolt 3 pass-through, offers data, video, and even power transfer. User can then take advantage of the second USB Type-C port for charging. Combined with HDMI, it can offer users a method for setting up a multi-monitor workspace. Users can also access its SD and microSD card slots for conveniently transferring data from mobile devices.
Please note to never connect two power sources to the USB Type-C ports at the same time.

First one broke, and the manufacturer reached out thru B&H and replaced it. That was cool, and the new one still works. I had to pay for postage to mail the broken one in, and it would’ve been best if the first one had kept working. All in all a decent, tho not stellar, experience.

Works great but it blocks the charger port when plugged in

I love how compact it is, no dongle cord to get in the way. Looks great attached to my 16″ MacBook Pro and provides easy access to the ports. I started out giving this product a 4 star rating because I initially thought the fit was flawed, and then I realized I had both a top and bottom acrylic protective cover I had immediately installed after I received my MacBook. It’s been on there since day one and I never think about it. I removed the bottom cover from my laptop and the adapter fit seamlessly. Very nice design and quite functional. The only way I wouldn’t highly recommend this adapter is if you too have a cover on the bottom of your MacBook and can’t live without it, then that would be a dealbreaker.

I like the purchase. Easy to handle and use. It is missing a LAN connector.

A couple of problems with this device when used with 2022 Macbook air 1, it blocks the magsafe charging port. 2, it is kind of too thick. As a result the computer’s rubber feet barely touch the table top. Is this a problem? I think so because then most of the computer and your hands’ weight are all on the two USB-C ports. 3, then shall I use dock upside down as it still plugs in? I don’t think so because it sticks out of the laptop base way too much.

This port side dock allows you to efficiently work on your Mac Book Pro without having to switch back and forth with USB cables. Ingenious.

This dock adds all the connections I need on my little MacBook Air. Two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and SD Card and microSD Card slots is what that computer was missing, and this provides them all in a simple and easy to use solution. The two USB-C ports are far enough apart that I can provide power through one, and use the other for my 256GB Kingston DataTraveler Max that is too wide to use in the computer when powered. The dock fits snugly in the computer and doesn’t stick out too much, and is easy to remove when I don’t need it. My only wish was that it had been available in gold to match my computer.
