Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into four USB 3.0 ports—with one performing double duty as a charging port—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the four ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the one charging port delivers up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 4-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

I have just purchased my second Xcellon 10 port USB 3 hub. The first one has been working fine for over four years at this point. The current model has a better on/off switch than the early model. No complaints.

Although pricey compared to others, what sold me was the metal case. This is important for shielding for ham radio. It also comes with a very substantial power supply. Rugged. It can be placed out of the way but accessible, which avoids things sticking out the front of a pc where they can get knocked into. Also each port has an led indicator.

I got a new iMac 24 which only had usb4 and usb3 ports. Trying to connect my Apple external hard drive and was told by B&H this would do the trick. It worked sporadically in the beginning now even though the blue lights are on it says there isn’t any power. Please don’t make the same mistake it did. This works sporadically and then not at all even though it says it’s connected.

Yes, I have a mess of wires on my desk now, but this thing handles everything I need to have plugged in, and I haven’t noticed anything that was connected drop, ever. It lays pretty flat, so it’s super easy to access, and I love how the charging ports are highlighted with a different color. No problems with heavy use over 2 and a half years.

It works at USB 3 speeds, it is well built, I expect it to last longer than the USB standard. This hub is so over engineered it’s unreal, I wish every product was like this. It comes with its own power supply, I wish it had more than 2 charge Ports, but I’m happy with it.

This is a nice, solidly build USB 3.0 hub. Adds multiple ports to my iMac. USB 3.0 speeds sufficient for my needs. The two powered ports work well with my external DVD drive and external SSD drives hosting data as well as SELinux virtual machine files with VNWare Fusion.

This unit is built like a tank. Enclosure is solid. I’m using one of the charge/data outputs to run a security camera where other powered hubs failed to do so. A couple of drives, webcam, and an audio interface connected to the remaining ports, everything works fine. Bottom line: best hub by far that I’ve used in this application. No regret.

So far I like this hub, but it has a severe flaw where it spontaneously disconnects devices when you plug in a new one, so your connected hard drives get dropped. That’s not good.
