Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into four USB 3.0 ports—with one performing double duty as a charging port—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the four ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the one charging port delivers up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 4-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

Does the job, and a nice solid, heavy feel that stays put on the desk.

Purchased this for my M1 mac mini. Easily adds 7 USB 3.0 ports which work perfectly. I’ve attached keyboard, microphone and even an audio interface and all work with zero issues. Charging my iPhone and iPad as well as other peripherals is a breeze. Charges fast and doesn’t get hot. Love the all metal construction too. Very solid performer for the price. As usual, B&H customer service and easy purchase is top notch.

Bought it to replace an old Belkin Multi-pert that failed when I updated my MacPro

This device does what it’s supposed to do: provides 4 usb 3.0 ports. The port with the lightening symbol gives out enough power to charge my iPhone quickly. Since the device has its own power supply, you can charge your phone with your computer turned off. The other ports have enough power to allow a bus-powered small hd to work properly. Haven’t tried using more than one at a time, however. The case is sturdy and compact. Comes with a heavy duty cable to connect it to your computer or monitor. And it has a sturdy on-off rocker switch. The only drawback is a minor one: the cable on the power supply could be a bit longer. It’s not cheap, but I would definitely recommend this. It has proven reliable, so far in the first several weeks, with no signs of failure. For me, the peace of mind is worth the extra bucks.

I use all the connections with my Apple MACbook Pro. I do a lot of video and audio editing and use external SSDs, speed works well in edits as if the files were native to the internal drive.

Professional quality, sturdy, and well built USB hub. These are built to last, as I have another one that I have had for five years with no issues. Highly recommended.

I purchased 2 of these in 2019. They worked so well, I purchased a third in July 2020.

Xcellon is the first USB hub I ever purchased that gave me no problem with any device whatsoever, including a back-up drive. Solidly built with great cords and cord length.

Look no further than the Xcellon USB hub – it’s rugged, it provides device charging ports, and includes two cables to connect via USB-A or Thunderbolt.

This works as promised. Nothing more and nothing less. It has a very solid build quality and I expect it will work for a long time. Worth the price.

The build Quality is excellent and the power delivery is top notch. This is the best USB hub you could get. Comes with USB-C or USB cables so you could choose whichever you like.

Functional, well-designed multi-port unit, however I’m not convinced that the two charging ports are working correctly. I use them to charge my Plantronics earpiece, with mixed results.

It has the ports I wanted but came with no cord to connect it to the Mac mini. Took it to Best Buy and they didn’t know what to do with it either. I will contact B & H and assume this will get worked out.

This is solidly built and is high quality. Works perfectly. Don’t have to worry about bad connections.

We blindly stumbled into purchasing these 4-port and 7-port hubs with a great deal of trepidation and with very limited background or information about Xcellon at the time of purchase. However, weve been using these 4 and 7-port Xcellon hubs heavily for over a year with no issues whatsoever. Weve used these with OS 10.10 thru 10.13 for a multitude of various devices including Fujitsu fi-7160/7180s, multi-bay Icy Dock enclosures, again, with no issues or conflicts. Initially these hubs would loose their connection with the Apples. go to sleep, etc. requiring the power button on these to be cycled. Those drops or sleep modes were due to OS X however. Once we powered cycled these hubs a couple of times, they have worked flawlessly since. As others have noted, not only do these have a solid, metal frame/enclosure construction but they also have a power button/switch. The power button alone is invaluable for our applications and heavy use. These hubs have been surprisingly, and pleasantly, reliable and stable. Only prob with these Xcellon hubs is we now need the 10-port hubs and B&H is out of stock! Guess we should probably maintain a surplus inventory of these in anticipation for Xcellon going the all-plastic, lightweight, cheap route (similar to the overrated Kensingtons we made the mistake of buying, which need to be taped to the desk).
