Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into four USB 3.0 ports—with one performing double duty as a charging port—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the four ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the one charging port delivers up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 4-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

This nicely made hub greatly expands the USB and charging flexibility of an iMac desktop.

See the picture. As a full-time video editor, I regularly have 6-8 drives attached to my MBP. Right now there is a total of 24TB connected via this hub. I regularly transfer 2-3TB sized files & packages back and forth for clients and work. This hub handles it all as expected. The occasional fail: about once a week, and always when working on files via this hub… suddenly, every single drive drops off line-gets dismounted without warning. I get a stack of notifications that my drives were not properly dismounted before detaching. UGH! The installation is stationary, there’s no change the thing suddenly became disconnected… and the power line is regulated as well… but it’s as if I had unplugged the hub while using it! So far no big losses… except time. Project has to close & restart, transferring files have to start again… etc. It’s not the end of the world… but it’s a product fail I would not have paid for.

As a remote & road video editing team for multiple clients, we have stacks of drives we need to wrangle. We have two of these (a 10-port, and now a 7-port model) and they work well. Solid metal construction, they stay put. And at USB-3 / USB-C, they don’t slow us down.

Works fine.I thought I was getting a USB C (my mistake) hub, but it turns out I needed this one all the same. And it is most satisfactory. Especially because of all of the inputs and the charging ports.

This hub has worked better than I expected. Like the ability to use it with USB 3.0 or USB-C ports on the computer as I changed from one to the other with my latest computer upgrade. The powered outlets work great for charging my iPad and Air Pods.

I bought this hub to replace three usb-c dongles. I was always short one port with these other adapters, but now I am all set – and I have a usb-c port free! The quick-charging ports are a nice bonus. And did I mention that it sits nice and flat on the desktop?

Haven’t used the hub a lot since receiving it a couple of weeks ago but all the data ports function properly. Haven’t tried the charge function of the data/charging port. I have noticed a big difference in speed when transferring files from the desktop to an external hard drive that is plugged into the hub. Files transfer much quicker. I was surprised that the port indicator lights don’t stay on full time when a device is plugged into the corresponding port. The light will stay on when the plugged in device is working. As an example, I have a memory card reader plugged in and the port indicator light comes on and stays on only when the reader is reading the picture files on the memory card and once I’m finished transferring the files from the card to the computer and remove the card from the reader, the port indicator light will go out even though the card reader is still plugged into the hub. Other than that, no complaints about this hub at this point in time.

This is the second high quality USB hub I’ve bought for my new Mac Studio. Both have issues. I think it’s the M1 chip and not the hub. Both hubs (the other was Anker) work fine on my old Mac Pro. But on the Studio, I could only get this one to work when using the included USB-C cable and only in the back, which means it takes up a valuable Thunderbolt port. It will not work with the USB-A ports, though all individual devices will. Very frustrating, but I got it working, and again, I think it’s the Mac, not this hub.

Bought this to expand an older IMAC. I really like the solid build of this, and the fact that the LED input lights up when something is connected. Very good build quality. Hopefully, it will last.

Hi, I ordered this device and once connected it emits a faint permanent high frequency noise that I have so far only encountered from cheap power supplies. It comes from the device itself not from the power supply. While this is super faint, it is impossible to work on this computer once you start hearing it as the frequency is in a band that is very irritating – I am usually not very noise sensitive with all other devices such as the fan of my macbook and such.

This hub was a welcome addition to my astronomical kit and, attached with velcro, rides happily on three astrophotography rigs–two refractors and a 10 inch reflector. The fact that the ports are on top and back keep the wires from interfering with my guide camera, and the hub is lightweight and sturdy. Also, the dual data/charging port is a useful extra; many usb hubs do not have this dual feature.

I first purchased this as an 8 port unit and that has worked very well. When I bought a second iMac I only needed a 4 port. And yes, this is working well too. I’d recommend this brand!

Good value for a powered USB hub. Works for me.

I bought this several weeks ago and have transferred large amounts of data (think Terabytes) to multiple external hard drives. Not a single glitch. The 3 recharging ports recharged my cell phone very quickly (much faster than my standard PC USB port). I’ve had other USB hubs and had occasional problems with drives not being recognized by my PC. None of that here. Plug in your USB device, and my PC sees it right away. It’s more expensive, but if having a very reliable piece of gear is important, this is the only way to go.

I use this thing all day everyday. It connects all my additional USB drives and SD cards to my laptop.

I’ve only had this since the end of March this year (It’s the 1st week of May). I noticed a few days ago my mouse was acting funny all of a sudden – the dongle is plugged into this. Plugged the dongle into the computer and the mouse works fine. And now my card reader, which has been plugged in since I got this, now won’t work. The card reader works perfectly when plugged directly into the computer. I’ve tried restarting, plugging into different ports, etc. Utter junk.

Works great with our iMac. Love the USB charging ports also.

New and improved for real! Replaced the power switch from the silly button and it is supplied with 2 connector cords depending on ones computer.

If you need to add on a lot of USB ports, this is and excellent choice.
