Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into seven USB 3.0 ports—with two performing double duty as charging ports—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the seven ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the two charging ports can each deliver up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 7-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

Well built. Sturdy design. Not portable. Great for desktop use. Fits my needs perfectly!

The xcellon hub has been my answer to getting more USB ports from my macbook. I can now attach my external hard drive, wacom tablet, and charge my phone with my macbook. I really like that it has an independent power supply for things like my external hard drives. And it’s small and fits inside my laptop bag.

Seems well-built, the aluminum case has some heft and the ports are solid. Comes with both USB-A and USB-C cables, which is nice. Works well with my computer (I’m running Linux, and have had issues in the past with USB3 hubs not recognizing USB2 devices). The only con, and reason I’ve removed a star, is that it doesn’t appear to support bus-power mode at all. If the power brick isn’t plugged in, it won’t work. Most other hubs I’ve used will work over bus power with lower powered devices, and only require external power for high draw stuff or charging, but not this one. Not a deal-breaker for me since it’s going to be used on a desktop, but if you’re looking at this for a laptop/portable situation, you might want to find something else.

Extremely well made and rugged hub system for home office use. Highly recommended and I will probably buy a second one for my studio. Well done!

I am a photographer and bought this to assist my need for accessing the laptop in order to tether camera, add printer, use the mouse and provide USB access for dongles and such… It was a great purchase and so far, all has worked well for me. In my opinion, having a powered USB hub is the only way to go in order to facilitate a good working system.

I bought a regular USB hub that typically for a tablet but I needed something better for my AIO desktop. I didn’t need the 7 or 10 port models but not some lightweight either and the Xcellon has what I needed and at a great price. With USB C ports getting more common and my desktop with two I was very happy to see the Xcellon comes with a B to A AND B to C cables included. Just the other day I used the charging port to wire connect my phone to my desktop and it was doing the job as described. So far no real downsides. If you need a few extra ports because you have a lot of stuff that uses USB-A but not hooked up all the time, like an optical drive you use a few times a year, then I’d recommend this.

I’ve had this in regular use for a couple weeks now. The unit feels very solid, including the ports and switch. No problems whatsoever with operation. I use it to power an iPad and connect it to an audio interface and a USB midi controller via an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. It works great for that.

Haven’t used the hub a lot since receiving it a couple of weeks ago but all the data ports function properly. Haven’t tried the charge function of the data/charging port. I have noticed a big difference in speed when transferring files from the desktop to an external hard drive that is plugged into the hub. Files transfer much quicker. I was surprised that the port indicator lights don’t stay on full time when a device is plugged into the corresponding port. The light will stay on when the plugged in device is working. As an example, I have a memory card reader plugged in and the port indicator light comes on and stays on only when the reader is reading the picture files on the memory card and once I’m finished transferring the files from the card to the computer and remove the card from the reader, the port indicator light will go out even though the card reader is still plugged into the hub. Other than that, no complaints about this hub at this point in time.

This is a well made product with a metal housing and rubber pads on the bottom to protect my fine wood desk finish. I like that the ports are vertical insertion in that it allows me to plug in devices one-handed without the port sliding across my desk. Great versatility in that it comes with both USB-A and USB-C cables. Also a plus is that the charging ports are data functional.

Do you need a robust USB hub that lights up with each connection? No. Any old USB hub will work. But as an on stage musician/producer/programmer, having something this robust, reliable and focused on reliability is 100% a necessity. I can’t afford to have USB drops or shady connections. This hub served the purpose with perfect reliability and trust. 1 less thing to worry about technically in a live session. And that insurance is worth every penny.

Look no further than the Xcellon USB hub – it’s rugged, it provides device charging ports, and includes two cables to connect via USB-A or Thunderbolt.

This nicely made hub greatly expands the USB and charging flexibility of an iMac desktop.

When I first connected it only 1 port worked. I was ready to return it the next day but somehow everything synced up overnight. I’m cautiously optimistic this will continue to work just fine. I wish I would’ve purchased the 10 port though, this filled up quickly.

Order came quick and on time. Took approximately 3 minutes to set up. Great to have since I have so many perifials I need to plug in. Charging usb’s are excellent. Great to charge up everything when the whole system is shut down. I would definitely purchase this item. Hardly takes up any room on the desk. Highly recommend this.

I needed to run a Camera, DJ controller, SD card reader, and a USB mic from a single USB-A 3.0 port. The port had the power and capacity to host the devices and I had a plethora of spare hubs, some powered, some not. None of them worked. I searched for a solution and the Xcellon came through. All of my devices work together as they should. No errors, no drop outs, pure bliss.

Thanks to the BH Photo contact for directing me to this product for more USB ports for my IMac. So far, working just fine.

I purchased this device and have been using it for 2 months now. Im not looking for a different one. The device seems to work well for external USB disks, but if I try to use a mouse of my wacom intuis pro with it, I get very bad performance ( mouse hangs as you drap across the screen, and wacom does the same and PS shows clocking too). I would not buy this if you plan to connect input devices. I use this with an HP OMEN laptop and it is plugged into a USB 3.1 port on the laptop.
