Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into seven USB 3.0 ports—with two performing double duty as charging ports—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the seven ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the two charging ports can each deliver up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 7-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

With five or six USB gadgets to plug in this hub is a lifesaver.

The only thing I would add to it is a means of mounting it. A bracket would be nice.

This works as promised. Nothing more and nothing less. It has a very solid build quality and I expect it will work for a long time. Worth the price.

I had numerous cheap USB hubs that gave noise on my audio sources during live webinars and video recording. Was using 12/15 port powered hubs thinking they were all the same. I’m using high end audio gear and I traced it to my USB hubs by connecting directly to my PC and proving the noise went away. I’m using XLR mics, Rode NTG5 with Rodecaster Pro, ATEM mini pro, etc. Found no issues with the 4 and 7 port from Xcellon. Just purchased the 10 port Xcellon to replace the 4 because I still need more connections. The hubs I had trouble with weren’t even sold by B&H. I will never try to save money again with USB hubs when audio quality is critical.

This hub was a welcome addition to my astronomical kit and, attached with velcro, rides happily on three astrophotography rigs–two refractors and a 10 inch reflector. The fact that the ports are on top and back keep the wires from interfering with my guide camera, and the hub is lightweight and sturdy. Also, the dual data/charging port is a useful extra; many usb hubs do not have this dual feature.

Good value for a powered USB hub. Works for me.

This well-built USB hub can connect up to ten devices (with three dual charging ports). Just be careful when connecting more than two devices – do not leave any ‘gaps’ between connections or the hub will have trouble mounting external drives when booting up a computer. Otherwise a great choice for connecting multiple devices to a laptop or desktop.

I would highly recommended the Xcellon 7-Port Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub with 2 dual data/charging ports to friends. It is solidly built and the performance is great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do without fail. I am using it with a Mac mini M1 2020 and the performance is great.

It working very well.

Because I use a fair number of peripherals, I tend to run out of USB Type-A ports fast. This product more or less solves the problem. I say or less because more than one data/charging port would be super useful. That’s a minor complaint, however. This little thing is performing well for me so far.

Bought it to replace an old Belkin Multi-pert that failed when I updated my MacPro

Works as advertised. No problems at all when connected to an add-in USB 3.0 board.

So far I like this hub, but it has a severe flaw where it spontaneously disconnects devices when you plug in a new one, so your connected hard drives get dropped. That’s not good.

I bought this to use on a new laptop. Have two wires to plug into the laptop to be up and running (the power cord and the cord for this hub). I have a USB to HDMI adapter that is also plugged into the hub so once I turn the unit on I have a second monitor!!! Working perfect so when I get off the road I can set it up as a desktop, printers and all.

Works well, no power issues with peripherals (as I’ve seen in other similar products). I especially like that it has a solid feel (metal case) and a power switch.

This USB Hub is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a solid USB Hub for multiple devices. When your computer is unplugged, you can manually switch the device off to save power. In addition, the charge ports can be used without a computer connected!
