Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into seven USB 3.0 ports—with two performing double duty as charging ports—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the seven ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the two charging ports can each deliver up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 7-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

This is an excellent piece of gear. It’s built solidly with a metal chassis, but it’s very light. The rubber feet give it some stability on your desktop so it wont slide around when you need to plug or unplug a device. The one thing that was surprising is how compact it is. It will sit unobtrusively on your desktop and won’t get in the way. The two charging ports are an excellent feature and let me charge my iPhone without the computer being powered on. This is a useful little piece of gear for anyone who uses or needs to charge several USB devices.

The build Quality is excellent and the power delivery is top notch. This is the best USB hub you could get. Comes with USB-C or USB cables so you could choose whichever you like.

The USB 3.0 ports operate fine. Charging ports are slow. I thought they would be a nice touch, but was disappointed.

Works great, you can plug the device in a usb-c connector. It does not take much space. Achieving what I was looking for.

This hub has worked better than I expected. Like the ability to use it with USB 3.0 or USB-C ports on the computer as I changed from one to the other with my latest computer upgrade. The powered outlets work great for charging my iPad and Air Pods.

I’m decidedly pleased with this hub. Overall build quality is better than previous hubs that I’ve owned. It definitely seems sturdy and solid, and the matte black aluminum frame gives it a premium look on my desk. The led indicators are bright, evenly lit, and very visible without being blinding or distracting. Though I haven’t speed tested it (for either data transfer rates or charging speed), I don’t have any complaints.

Nice-looking unit. the power hub drive works fantastic. Works much better than a plug in USB 3 hub.

Functional, well-designed multi-port unit, however I’m not convinced that the two charging ports are working correctly. I use them to charge my Plantronics earpiece, with mixed results.

This unit is built like a tank. Enclosure is solid. I’m using one of the charge/data outputs to run a security camera where other powered hubs failed to do so. A couple of drives, webcam, and an audio interface connected to the remaining ports, everything works fine. Bottom line: best hub by far that I’ve used in this application. No regret.

Purchased this for my M1 mac mini. Easily adds 7 USB 3.0 ports which work perfectly. I’ve attached keyboard, microphone and even an audio interface and all work with zero issues. Charging my iPhone and iPad as well as other peripherals is a breeze. Charges fast and doesn’t get hot. Love the all metal construction too. Very solid performer for the price. As usual, B&H customer service and easy purchase is top notch.

I placed my hub on the floor by the side of my desk. I love the indicator LEDs that show the hub is turned on and which ports are active. The hub is heavy enough to stay upright and in place with all my cables plugged-in. Whoever designed this unit did a great job. I’ve used the hub for 9 weeks without any problems. I highly recommend it.

Now I can connect a keyboard for using a larger monitor (that is connected to my laptop) for viewing and editing photos in Lightroom, and at the same time connect two external hard drives.

I’ve only had this since the end of March this year (It’s the 1st week of May). I noticed a few days ago my mouse was acting funny all of a sudden – the dongle is plugged into this. Plugged the dongle into the computer and the mouse works fine. And now my card reader, which has been plugged in since I got this, now won’t work. The card reader works perfectly when plugged directly into the computer. I’ve tried restarting, plugging into different ports, etc. Utter junk.

I’ve been using this hub for a week without any problems. It’s heavier and more solid-feeling than some hubs — the case is metal. I prefer it that way so that it stays put when you plug things into it.

Got this to augment the limited interface with a new NUC. Solidly built and, at least to this point, fast and reliable. I like the slim form, the indicator lights, the USB 3.0 speed, the on/off switch and the power port. Next time I will probably get the larger version as it is already fully occupied.
