Transform a single USB 3.0 port from a notebook, tablet, or desktop into seven USB 3.0 ports—with two performing double duty as charging ports—with the Powered USB 3.0 Slim Aluminum Hub from Xcellon. Each of the seven ports is outfitted with USB 3.0 technology that enables it to transfer data at rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When used as a stand-alone hub, the two charging ports can each deliver up to 2.4A of current for recharging tablets, smartphones, and other power-hungry devices. Furthermore, the hub is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 interfaces and supports a wide-variety of systems, including Windows, Mac, Chrome, and Linux.
When compared to the previous version, this Xcellon hub features a slimmer design as well as a redesigned power system, which provides a toggle switch and the ability to automatically turn on when the host computer is powered on or restarted. Moreover, the slim design and rubber treads allow the hub to stay upright while unplugging and plugging in USB cables.
Xcellon has constructed this 7-port hub of heat-dissipating aluminum and includes a dual-voltage power adapter for ensuring ample power flows to your USB-connected devices, while reducing the strain on the host system’s components. Aside from power, LED indicators are located next to each port, so you can see the power status of each individual USB port. There’s also an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-A cable and an included 3.3′ (1m) USB 3.0 Type-C cable that lets you start using this hub right away.

I purchased 2 of these in 2019. They worked so well, I purchased a third in July 2020.

I got this because I got tired of having to remove USB devices from my computer that has limited USB ports, so that I could plug in another device. I’ve only had this device for a few days. So far it is doing its job.

I use this device for the last 6 month, all my HDD are connected there to my MacBook Pro with USB C. There’s no issue with data transfer with full load.

I needed more than 4 ports and this fit the bill. Works great and powered ports are very helpful.

Works fine.I thought I was getting a USB C (my mistake) hub, but it turns out I needed this one all the same. And it is most satisfactory. Especially because of all of the inputs and the charging ports.

Yes, I have a mess of wires on my desk now, but this thing handles everything I need to have plugged in, and I haven’t noticed anything that was connected drop, ever. It lays pretty flat, so it’s super easy to access, and I love how the charging ports are highlighted with a different color. No problems with heavy use over 2 and a half years.

I got a new iMac 24 which only had usb4 and usb3 ports. Trying to connect my Apple external hard drive and was told by B&H this would do the trick. It worked sporadically in the beginning now even though the blue lights are on it says there isn’t any power. Please don’t make the same mistake it did. This works sporadically and then not at all even though it says it’s connected.

I am utilizing every port for USB connections and it has performed as expected. Placement important to ensure mouse sensor connects.

Xcellon is the first USB hub I ever purchased that gave me no problem with any device whatsoever, including a back-up drive. Solidly built with great cords and cord length.

Well designed sturdy (aluminum) enclosure, bright LED function & charge indicators. USB 3.0 goes without saying performance-wise. Highly recommend this unit, great quality, incl cables! An added bonus is the unit’s base has non-skid, non-marking, vinyl protector tape applied to the enclosure to protect desk surfaces. Get one and end the cable hassles for good.

The construction is excellent, it’s missing USB-C ports however to get 5 stars.

We have two of these, and they generally do well. The only glitch is that once in a while they will simply drop off-line, ejecting all the drives without warning. However, I have found that this only happens when transferring large files (TB-sized) from one drive to another drive – also on the hub.

This device gives me lots of USB ports without needing to get under my desk to plug things in. And it works great as a phone charger too! Only downside is that you then have a mess of cables sticking up.

I bought this to replace a previous 3.0 hub. Cables sit neatly. Data transfer is faster. Worth it.

I spent about a day going back and forth with B&H sales via email regarding connectivity to the Mac Mini I just got here. Since there are only 2 USB ports on the Mini and so many other things are USB, I had to consider a hub. Sales said this was a good one. So thought I, thrilled to finally be able to use a mouse, monitor and HD all at the same time again. I like the rubber treads on the bottom that make it stay on the desk. When my internet kept dropping, did I think it could be the hub? No I did not. After another several hours of messing with things, I found online that it has been a known issue for over a year, that many hubs interfere with wifi on the Mac Mini. Maybe it’s not the hub’s fault, but this thing is doing some kind of broadcasting and exactly what that is should be in writing. I can’t believe B&H sales didn’t know about it.
