Bought it to get more USB ports on my 2007-vintage iMac, but the pairing didn’t work at all. Ready light came on for a few seconds then shut off. Nothing plugged into it would function. However, the Ready light stayed lit when I plugged it into my 2010-vintage Dell. My SD card reader functioned. B&H is sending me a model from a different manufacturer that (hopefully) will work with my iMac.

Works like a charm

It allows multiple devices to connect through a single port on the computer. Serves it’s need. Cable length a little short so it still has to sit behind or near the back of the computer.

Waste of money. My drives are now unable to write to them. They can only be read? I plugged three drives that are now unusable! I just disconnected it. I want my money back, but postage will probably be more expensive than the drive.

Works fine as described on BH Internet store page.

this is a small simple device that I purchased to replace a different brand hub that had failed. I have 5 hubs and over 10 years I only 2 have failed. I usually pick an inexpensive model that has good reviews.

It is fast and very convenient. I have a ridiculous monitor with the USB plugs recessed in the back–this helps a lot. However the Excellon adapter I ordered from B and H arrived DOA, Dead on arrival which really surprised me. I thought that maybe my computer was not working or something. So I tested and tested until I concluded, yup, DOA. I wrote the company and they replaced it.

This hub was immediately recognized by my laptop with Windows 10, without the need to install drivers. Connected 2 HDDs to it and file transfer speed is perfectly fine. Haven’t witnessed any issues so far.
