Expand your system’s connectivity with the Xcellon 4-Port Slim USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Hub. With four USB Type-A ports, this hub can be used to connect a variety of peripherals such as flash drives, keyboards, and more. Adhering to USB 3.1 Gen 1 standards, it has data transfer rates of up to 5 Gb/s, so you can spend less time waiting and more time getting things done. Moreover, its slim design makes it easily pocketable for use on-the-go.
Note: This USB hub supports data transfer only. It will not deliver power to devices.

I am using Tether Tools USB3 active extensions and a Tether Tools USB3 Tether Boost Core Controller, connected as per their instructions, to reach this hub 32 ft away, into which I have a camera, a mic, and a serial port connected. In this configuration, the hub does not reliably work, even with the Core Controller powered or unpowered, and even trying the older 4 port Core Controller, powered and unpowered. But when I substituted the hub with a BlackWeb USB3 hub from Walmart, everything works reliably. At short distances, the hub appears to work fine, so I won’t claim it’s defective, but I don’t know what it is about it that causes problems tethered, where a different hub does not, but there it is.

Great to have more ports on my MacBook Pro now. Fast

I used this hub to expand my Mac Mini’s ability to accept USB 3.0 devices. It works very well. There are no on/off buttons – just plug it in and you’re off to the races. I have not felt any heat on my hub, so it does not seem to overheat, etc. I did not run any speed checks so I am unable to comment on its functionality when it is being hit several times, all at once with multiple drives, for example. It works well to power devices as well.

Good accessory. Doesn’t need power which is good but also doesn’t run power through it.

Quality design, fast speeds. As with any hub that isn’t externally powered, expect devices to temporarily disconnect when removing an HDD from the hub.

Works fine, I have not tested its speed but it does what I wanted it to do, not much else to say.

Lots of hubs, even ones that plug in to AC outlet, won’t power external hard drives on an iMac for some reason. This one does! The one thing I don’t like (why I didn’t give it 5 stars) is the power button is in the perfect place to push it accidentally as you’re plugging or unplugging USB connectors into this hub. Yes, I’ve done this about 3 times and now have scotch tape over the it with a little hump right above the power button. A 5 star USB hub (demoted to 4) w/button that should be inset so it can’t be pressed easily.

The four port works well and has an on off button that is handy. The .wire is heavy duty, but too long for my portable. B&H as usual, best prices and right on time

This is the perfect accessory if you have a laptop with only one USB slot!

My matebook has only one usb. This hub allows me to easily use other usb devices!

What more can I say? You plug it in, it works! Nice design, too.

Only have two USB ports on my laptop, one of which is permanently occupied by an outboard hard drive, so a good hub not only provides flexibility but also saves wear and tear on the other USB port on the laptop. This one seems to be very fast, and I have had no problems with any of the devices I have plugged into. The configuration is handy: sits flat on the desk with the ports upward where you can see to plug in. No problems so far.

I got this to enable tethering two cameras into the same computer without switching cables. I often shoot different focal lengths with different cameras into my Mac Book Pro in my studio. This did the trick. One camera is a Canon using Lightroom, the other is a Hasselblad, using Phocus software so there is no conflict. It works great. It even charges the battery in the Hasselblad camera while shooting. Works great!

It works as advertised. Lead cord is too short. Unfortunately the White version was discontinued.

I had an older Xcellon that required current plus USB, so this one is smaller and neater and works just fine. The last time around, though, I learned that you can’t use small, neat ones for hard drives, so I don’t. I have an iMac and two external hard drives that I keep plugged into the iMac. Then I plug this Xcellon into the Mac and use it for my scanner, printer, and iPod, etc. It sits out-of-the way on the “foot” of the Mac.
