I bought this for only one purpose – to bring a USB port to the front of my iMac. Got so tired of having to fish around the back to plug in external hard drives full of photos – it drove me crazy. So this was an inexpensive solution to the problem – works well for that – but I really didn’t need the 4 ports. The cable is just the right length to bring it a bit forward of the iMac screen and still lay flat on the desk.

A nice way to increase the number of USB ports on a laptop. It doesn’t support power, but it is great for making the most of an exising USB port. I use mine to attach an ethernet adapter and a couple of USB thumb drives, without having to disconnect one or the other.

Like a lot of people, I needed an extra port or two. Theres a huge variety of them so when I told the B&H tech what I wanted it for, he recommended this one. My main concern was that even with its low price, it would not effect the speed of any program that I might use, particularly ones that I use for photos and music. Despite the enormity of my files of both, this hub works with my iMac flawlessly and Im very satisfied.

I can’t believe the high rating this unit has on this site. As with other reviewers, the hub worked fine for a week or so and then started to mount and unmount drives on my Mac. What a waste of money!

Absolutely love it, the USB ports on our HP laptop, which is used as our main computer, I.e. Desk top, are on the sides under the curve. A little out of the way. The 4-Port hub allows me to plug and remove flash drives with ease. Come income tax time I’ll have plenty of ports to handle additional drives.
