Make sure your business has all the tools it needs with this WorkCentre 6515/DNI All-in-One Color Laser Printer from Xerox with printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. A very capable printer, it features a maximum resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi for sharp documents as well as impressive speeds of up to 30 ppm in simplex or 18 ppm in duplex. It also features a variety of methods for handling media, including a 250-sheet standard input tray and a 50-sheet bypass tray. Additionally, if connected to a network through the Ethernet port or the built-in Wi-Fi, users can even print remotely from their mobile devices.
Scanning, copying, and faxing are made possible through the implementation of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed as well as the 50-sheet single-pass duplexing ADF that supports media up to 8.5 x 14″. This scanner unit features an optical resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and even has a built-in OCR for creating searchable documents. Along with these features, a color touchscreen is present for intuitive operation while a front USB port allows users to print from and scan to a portable storage device. Additionally, the printer comes equipped with a standard USB 3.0 interface for direct connection to a computer.

Decided to move away from ink jet printers and was looking for an American brand knowing the unit was probably not made in the USA. Settled on the Xerox WorkCentre 6515DN MFP. While we could have stayed with the home use styled printer, we do use it for small business sized job once in a while and did not want to tax the printer unnecessarily. The unit prints well. No one should have complaints about quality. The only issues or problems is with loading Drivers and how the unit interfaces with our PC. What we did not expect was that the unit will not directly connect to a PC even though it has a USB Printer port; the unit can only operate on a network and all connections must go through a Router. This made scanning a document to a computer more complex than with other printers in the past. The biggest problem was installation of Drivers. For some reason, the initial wired print driver will not work, it is not recognized by the PC’s OS. The wireless print Driver might work, but do not usually use it. After some work, we were able to get our Windows 10 OS to load the Driver a third time creating a third printer with almost identical name. But I still can’t get rid of the nonfunctional printer driver or else the other ones will stop working. There is no software to change printer setting using the PC, you have to use the IP Address and a web browser to log into the printer or use the touch screen on the printer. While differences between past printers and the problem with the Drivers have soured us about how Xerox interfaces with a PC, the printer itself is top quality.

I researched my needs, and cost with what was available. The amount of information is overwhelming. I am glad that I selected this machine. It was easy to set up. It does 2 sided-copies, 1 – 2 sided scans, scans to a thumb drive, the printing is clear. When I copy in color, it is difficult to tell the original from the copy. I print a fair amount and I am still on the original cartridge. It is easy to use, and we print from multiple computers. I haven’t set it up on my ipad yet as I don’t have much of a need to print from my ipad. I would purchase again.

This has much better print and photo quality than my 10 year old Samsung laser printer. I am very happy with the scan and copy quality. Some features: scan to mail, scan to desktop, seem to require a network login as I could not get these features to work. This was a minor issue as there are other workarounds to scan to my computer and then manually mail. The printer is fast and with 200 pages printed, no jams so far.
