Boost the productivity of your office with the print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities of the VersaLink C405/DN All-in-One Color Laser Printer from Xerox. A fast and efficient printer, the C405 can reach speeds of up to 36 ppm with ease and features duplex printing at up to 24 ppm. Your documents will be sharp with a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and you can print a variety of common sizes from 3 x 5″ up to 8.5 x 14″. Also, by offering both a 150-sheet bypass and a 550-sheet input tray, users will have plenty of media before running out and can load multiple types at the same time.
Scanning, copying, and faxing are made possible through the use of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed and a 50-sheet single-pass duplex ADF. An optical scan resolution is useful for producing sharp imagery in a variety of file formats and built-in character recognition can help users quickly search files after they are scanned.
For easy, intuitive operation the C405 has a large 5″ touchscreen LCD. Also, an easy-access USB port is available for walk-up printing and scanning. This unit is designed to last with a rated monthly duty cycle of 80,000 pages. Additionally, it features both USB 3.0 and Ethernet connectivity.

Way too many problems using this printer. I started with wireless, could not get it to work. Eventually printing but still get constant print errors, my jobs don’t go through for one reason or another. Purchased a hardwired cord so I could get a scan done and still had problems. Resorted to using a flash drive on the unit. Yet another issue to conquer, which takes considerable time. Some things just do not make sense when trying to use it. For instance, I set print density to the lowest setting to conserve ink and it does not appear to use less ink, which other printers do. I set it to print 4 sheets per page. Get only one reduced sheet on the page. Have not figured out what the problem is yet. It will be a long haul. If I try to print that document directly from the jpg, Miscrosoft does not give me access to that setting. This is how most things go when simply trying to print. A lot of wasted paper and ink goes down in the process. Efficiency and conservation does not appear to be a goal. Very frustrating. The print quality is good. Documentation is extremely poor. I hope to master all the idiosyncrasies or plain bugs so I can work smoother and efficiently. I have to wonder about how they do their product testing.

We have bought this Xerox VersaLink C405 few months ago replacing our normal portable printing machines. This machine looks very professional and has great features. The best feature I liked about is the using of the Xerox App from your laptop or any device where you can control the scanning and printing of the documents. The product is great and the toner last longer than normal cartridges. Overall it is a great office product to use.

This printer all-in-one performs all of its functions/jobs beautifuly, and with ease of use. It has tons of features which makes all jobs more efficient. I use it in my home office. I am so glad I purchased this printer. When first considering my purchase of this printer I was worried that it would be a bit much for a home office. It turns out that it is just right. I have had this printer for a year now and have had no difficulties whatsoever with it. The printing is professional level as is all the other functions/jobs it does. It will even scan material into a particular folder on my computer, or to email. What an efficient way to help me stay organized. I have also set it up to print from and scan to my laptop and phone. I really like all the offical Xerox how-to videos available on-line and the many other support resources available, free of charge. This printer is built to last. It is not one that you would buy and replace in a year or two.This has been my most cost-effective printer purchase to date. Other printers may be less expensive to purchase, but the cost of operating them and their reliability do not provide the same value as this printer.

We needed a new multifunction laser printer (w/ copier / scanner / fax) that prints in color and b&w, that also supports loading regular and legal sized paper simultaneously. The C405 VersaLink fits the bill perfectly. Only drawback so far is that we wish we’d known in advance that the legal size paper tray would stick out of the front of the printer when loaded with paper. That’s not ideal, but it’s also not a big problem once we got used to it. Still, a redesign there might be helpful. Anyhow, the printer works great — was fairly easy to setup (but probably not for total novices) — and is doing its job well so far. We’re very happy with the purchase.

I love this product, but I wish you didn’t have to configure the paper for the bi-pass tray. Set the main tray to 8.5×11 – fine The bi-pass tray should just tell you what it needs and when you click OK run. We have more trouble trying to run envelops, then 8.5×14, then checks. Trying to get it to print is a real pain.

I bought this machine for my home office, in part because it’s the same one that is use at my office. It is feature rich with two sided scanning, two sided printing etc. Setting up the print function on my home network was easy. Getting the unit to scan directly to hard drives on my home network took some work and getting it to scan and send out the pdf to an e-mail was a bear (many hours). Partly my fault. The manuals don’t indicate that Xerox provides tech support for new purchases. So, I mistakenly didn’t think it was provided, whereas Xerox does provide the support. To scan to a hard driver required setting up a new user on each computer on the network. Perhaps there’s another path, but that is what worked for me. To scan to an e-mail address requires sending the e-mail to your smtp server. In my case Gmail. It never worked – although the Xerox tech has seen it work with Gmail. Ultimately, I successfully used an e-mail address with my Microsoft Office 365 subscription. Now that I’m through the hard part, I love the machine and expect to get many years of use.
