Based on the RDNA 2 architecture and designed to handle the graphical demands 1440p gaming, the XFX Radeon RX 6700 XT SPEEDSTER MERC 319 BLACK Gaming Graphics Card provides an immersive gaming experience with your PC games. The GPU features 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 192-bit memory interface, offering improved performance and power efficiency over the previous RDNA-based generation.
The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs, such as DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.1 supports up to 48 Gb/s bandwidth and a range of higher resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K @ 60fps, 4K @ 120fps, and even up to 10K. The Radeon RX 6700 XT supports APIs, such as DirectX 12 Ultimate and OpenGL. These APIs can take advantage of the GPU’s 4608 Stream Processors to accelerate parallel computing tasks, taking some of the processing load off of the CPU. For cooling, XFX implemented a triple fan cooler.

This XFX Speedster lives up to the reviews with respect to build quality. It is a beast of a card that runs quiet. I never hear its fans over those of my CPU fans and case fans. This much I expected. What I am surprised by is how satisfied I am with its performance despite it being just a RX 6700 XT. I just couldn’t stomach paying over $1000 on a graphics card in the summer of 2021, but I needed a card, wanted AMD for its better Linux support, wanted a new card, did not want to deal with ebay, and got tired of playing games trying to get a card, any card, at MSRP, so when I saw this card belong $1000 I bought it. In a normal market I would most likely have sprung for an RX 6800 XT for a roughly 1.5x performance improvement over the RX 6700 XT (in terms of gaming FPS 1440p). What I forgot to factor in, and what i found surprising, was how little I now care about missing out. I was too focused on review benchmarks, which often run the most resource intensive games at max settings, and not reality. Two aspects: first, I can’t usually tell if I’m running a game at high vs max settings, so if I really need 140 FPS or some other goal I can still game at that level and, two, most games I have tried perform great with this card in practice and the way I play even 60 FPS is totally fine.

Shipping was quick and the card was well packaged. Got it hooked up and worked like a breeze straight away. While still priced above MSRP at the time I bought it, the markup was much less than I’ve seen on other sites. All my games have run super smooth so far on it!
