I needed a new case for my ipad mini and decided to go with this hard case. I’ve had scilicone cases in the past but I perfer this hard cover because it is a perfect fit and it’s thin so it’ll withstand a few nicks. The only reason it is 4 stars and not 5 is because it is a little difficult removing.

I ordered 6 of these. All but one fit quite well and snapped onto the iPads easily. The 6th one was a very tight fit and I almost gave up before giving it one more try. Eventually I got it to snap onto the iPad, but it was difficult. Given that is 1/6, I figure that’s not too bad. Otherwise, they look nice, have a good slight-rubbery feel to it for extra grip, and looks like they will protect the iPads from abuse.

I have a Mini 2 and bought this even though it clearly says Mini 1st Generation. There is an 0.01 difference in depth between the Mini 1 and Mini 2. That seems to be just enough to make fit of this case a little difficult on the Mini 2. I’ve managed to get it to stay in pretty well, but if you have a model later than the 1st generation and you want the case to be 100% secure, you should try another case. But if the case fits, it is a great case. It adds just enough heft and depth to make the Mini feel comfortable and balanced in hand without adding too much bulk and weight, and just as important, the soft touch finish gives it enough of a passive grip that I no longer have the hand fatigue I did trying to hold onto the slick iPad mini alone. I bought the case for those reasons not for protection. This case makes the iPad mini easier to hold for long periods of time.
