Always have your files on hand with the red WD 2TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 2TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

I’m super bummed this HD has not worked from the start. My sister bought me one as a gift for when my current HD ran out of room. Plugged it in and it will not detect stating the hard drive is corrupt.

It’s awful stoped working after a few months haven’t even moved it or anything it’s just been sitting in the same spot and it stoped working. Don’t waste your money buying this!

I purchased 2 of these drives. One of them simply stopped connecting to my computer within a couple months for no apparent reason. The second one became corrupted after about 6 months. If you value your data, don’t buy this drive.

Said it could back up NAS devices, but only specific ones and not a Synology. So the WD material could have been more informative. My NAS had an alternative that worked just fine with the device. Easy to use out of the box.

Didn’t even last 5 months. received on 3/22/22. Put into use on 3/23/22. Used as a backup drive (Time Machine) on a brand new iMac. The drive started disconnecting itself on 8/8/22 and will no longer mount. Never dropped or abused. It just sat on a desk for 4.5 months.
