Always have your files on hand with the red WD 2TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 2TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

Arrived preloaded with out-of-date and UNUSABLE software. Automatic update would not upgrade. Website was very unfriendly. Way too difficult for something that should be easy.

Although I still had memory space on my old WD, it was extraordinarily slow and often not responsive. I finally replaced it with this, and it’s fast and backing up efficiently.

If there was a way of giving this 0 stars I would. I bought this drive in December of 2021. It has been sitting on my desk since just after Christmas. It has never been dropped, it has never even so much as been moved. No sooner was I finished ripping some 2500+ CDs to FLAC than the drive just started clicking. Click, click, click. Nothing seems to work. I’ll try plugging it into a Linux laptop & see if I can at least retrieve my files.

Very Good… I’ve always admired the quality of Western Digital hard drives over the other brands… My only quibble, what was supposed to be a 5.0 terabyte drive, actually only had 4.5 Terabytes of available space on it…

I have several WB 4TB Passport USB External Hard drives and they are easy to use, perfect for backing up photos, music or anything else. Perfect size if you want to travel with them and in general do not take up a lot of space. The transfer speed is also good. I wanted the red one to separate its use from others I have and it’s a nice red.

I have been using hard drives and SSDs to back up my photo & video work for 7+ years now. In the last two years, I have had not one, but TWO of these My Passports crash on me after having each for only about a year. Each time I luckily had a fair amount double backed up, but they crash so quickly that I’ve lost information both times. Ridiculously poor quality. Begging you not to buy one of these if you value your work.

I don’t get access to my both 5TB HDD, after 24h of use. With “EaseUse Partion Master* I’m restoring the partition currently. Sorry but this was my last bought of WD product. I hope the restore will work. I can’t believe how delicate it is to handle a WD HDD My Passport. I will refund the two products I have bought 24h ago. Sad.

this product worked for 6 to 12 months then it quit working I have tried lots of ways to maybe get it to work again but it didn’t work I only used it to store video games so it wasn’t a total lose.
